One of the most challenging elements of teaching elementary art is scheduling. Over the past nine years, I have had various schedules that are confusing! I learned this trick to help keep myself organized.
At the beginning of the year, I print labels of my daily class schedule. This past year I had a three-day rotation, so I just printed a page of each day on mailing labels. Every year I purchase a big desk calendar that I hang on a wall. I use my labels to fill in each day. I add color with highlighters and markers. I write in the lesson plan of the day on the calendar so I can quickly track what each class is doing. I also write in days that I am gone, field trips, and the frequency of seeing classes.
A place where I keep all of my thoughts on teaching an elementary Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) classroom.
