1) Utilize school social media
Share the amazing creations and ideas of your students by using social media.
2) Highlight an amazing student
Let a student be in charge of an art gallery. They can display their own work or work collaboratively with peers to fill up the gallery.
3) ALWAYS post Artist's Statements with work
Always post a description about the art or artist's statement from the student about their work.
4) Nontraditional Art Gallery
My district of art teachers collaborated with a neighboring district and put together an "Art Bus" for a football game. Wendi Oster, a friend and colleague, and I wrote an article about this experience.
I also displayed students' art work at the local drive thru coffee shop.
5) Other ideas...
A place where I keep all of my thoughts on teaching an elementary Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) classroom.
